Dne 14.2.2008 jsem měl workshop na téma souborový systém ZFS a 24 TB. V rámci Workshopu byl představen ZFS a jeho jedinečné vlastnosti, dále proběhla praktická ukázka funkcionalit ZFS na serveru Sun X4500 Thumper v konfiguraci 48x 500GB SATA HDD s celkou RAW kapacitou 24 TB.
V praktických ukázkách bylo předvedeno vytvoření poolu, jeho sdílení přes nfs, rozkládání zátěže online přes nově přidané disky bez přerušení kopírování, snapshoty a práce s nimy. Server byl účastníky rozebrán na jednotlivé části, předvedeno chlazení disků a další technické speciality tohoto řešení.
